Letters to My Brown Mother is officially released!
My name is Muzna Abbas. I'm a first-generation Pakistani-American, originally from Southern California.
I've recently just graduated from Georgetown University with a dual-masters in Foreign Service and an MBA. Prior to graduate school, I was a bilingual educator and Teach for America corp member, teaching 5th and 6th grade students in English and Spanish in Buffalo, NY. I received my BA in International Studies from University of California, San Diego.
During my free time, I enjoy reading, dabbling in photography, cooking Pakistani dishes, and exploring Washington, DC with my dog,
Baxter.
I've recently started my author journey with my first book, Letters to My Brown Mother. As a Pakistani-American daughter of immigrants, I wrote this book as an ode to my own struggles with mental health. I hope that sharing my insights and those of my peers will encourage others to be more proactive in taking care of their mental wellbeing.
